Ronnie McLaughlin, 65, of Elgin died at 5:05 pm on Friday, March 28, 2014 at Adventist Glen Oaks Hospital. He was born on September 21, 2014 in Rock Island IL to William McLaughlin and Helen Harris. After tragically losing both of his parents at a young age, he was raised by his loving aunt and uncle, Barbara and Clarence Durham. Ronnie was married to Geraldine Williamson, she survives. He is also survived by his son, Ronnie McLaughlin, his brother, LeRoy (Dorise) McLauglin; his sisters: Cinda McLauhglin, Cil (Roland) Murray, Diane Shipp, Jean (Al) Campbell, and Debbie (James) Colbert; his 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Lynn Jackson; his brothers: Billy McLaughlin Jr., Bobby McLaughlin, and Harry McLaughlin; and his sister, Carol Thomas.
Ronnie worked maintance at CapSonic for 11 years before retiring. Ronnie was an avid fisherman; often seen at his favorite watering hole along the Fox River. He also loved roller skating and bowling. Ronnie took pride as a father and grandfather, cherishing his family above all. He was loved by all who knew him.
There will be Funeral services held for Ronnie on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 12 PM at O’Connor- Leetz Funeral Home in Elgin IL. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to service, starting at 10 AM. Pastor Andrew Johnson will be officiating the service. Cremation rights will be accorded following the service.
