Patricia L. Hagel, 77, of Elgin, died on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Sherman Hospital. Born on April 28, 1931 in Bloomington, IL, she was the daughter of Brady and Mabel (Craig) Mattingly.
She has been an Elgin area resident since 1955. Prior to her marriage to Raymond Hagel in 1961, she was employed as a secretary at the David C. Cook Publishing Co. in Elgin. Pat has been president of the Wing School PTA, president of the Elgin Day Care Center, secretary for Friends of Judson and secretary/treasurer for the Tyler Towers Condominiums. Pat, Ray and their daughter, Carla, were the first residents of Tyler Towers, having moved there in 1977.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Beverly (James) Willet; and her loving husband, Ray, who passed away in October 2002.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Hagel of Elgin, and Carla (Don) Edwards, of Sharon, TN; brothers, Ralph Sallade of Auburn, WA and John Mattingly of Brackettville, TX; granddaughter, Elizabeth (Tim) Canham of South Elgin; grandson, Jacob (Ana) Tovar of Elgin; and great-grandchildren, Brendan and Nathan Canham, and Michael Tovar.
