Lenore “Tooter” Leetz, 83 of Kalamazoo, died Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Rose Arbor Hospice, Kalamazoo. The daughter of Snyder and Doris (Stimpson) Miller, she was born September 10, 1932 in Kalamazoo County.
She was the loving wife of Norm for 64 years, having been married in November 15, 1951. She enjoyed life’s simple pleasures such as reading, cooking, movies, her cat Krystal, and all animals. Lenore graduated from Otsego High in 1950, and worked for Clarage Fan prior to starting her family. Lenore was very proud of her working career and, in addition to caring for her home she cleaned private homes as well. From the 1960’s through the ‘90s she worked as a clerk for the following establishments; Klein’s Variety Store, Dougherty’s Corners Super Market, and Harding’s Market, all of the Kalamazoo area. She was selfless in her love for husband, children, brothers and sister.
Lenore is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband; two children, Janice (David) Ackerman of Kalamazoo, Tom (Donna) Leetz of Elgin, IL; 4 brothers, Fred (Shirley) of Alamo, Don (Diane) of Otsego, Dave of Boyne Mtn., MI, and Buck (Denise) of Gobles; 1 sister, Barbara Miller of Galesburg; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 noon from the Valley View Bible Church, 8979 West Main Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009 with Pastor B.J. Luce, officiating.
