Kathryn M. Westberg, 97, of Bartlett died Friday, January 6, 2017 at Clare Oaks Nursing Center. The daughter of Mark P. and Minola F. (Raatz) Biggers she was born May 5, 1919 in Carpentersville, IL.
She loved baking, cooking, and gardening. Kathryn also loved crocheting, sewing, bowling, and her church craft group. Kathryn was dedicated to her family and loved them very much. She worked at the Elgin Watch Factory and Harry Hintz’s Car Dealership (where she met her husband). Later she also worked at the Friendly Loan Co. where she worked as a bookkeeper / stenographer. Kathryn was married to Lawrence H. Westberg for over 62 years until his death in 2005.
She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband; one sister, Evelyn Goodpasture; two brothers, Ralph Biggers and Wilfred Biggers.
Kathryn is survived by two daughters, Kathra (Robert) Naviaux of Elgin, Wendelyn Westfall of Algonquin; four grandsons, Eric and Wesley Naviaux, Ian and Paul Westfall; five great grandsons; many loving nieces.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the O’Connor – Leetz Funeral Home, Elgin from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. and again from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. on Friday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church 340 Grand Blvd., Elgin with Pastor Carol Book, officiating.
Memorial Donations may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Elgin or Anderson Animal Shelter of South Elgin.
