Jesus Esquivias, 84 of Elgin died Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Advocate Sherman Hospital. The son of Luis and Maria Jesus (Perez) Esquivias he was born June 23, 1932 in Araro, Michoacan, Mexico.
He worked his entire life, and was self-employed as a carpenter. Following his retirement he continued his passion of carpentry and upholstery. Jesus loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
Jesus is preceded in death by his wife Jacoba of 41 years, having died in 1997, his parents, one brother Jose, one sister Victoria.
He is survived by four children; Guadalupe, Jesus, Martin, and David (Esperanza) all of Elgin; 11 grandchildren, Teresa, Lupita, Martin, Jr., Vicky, Anthony, Robert, Eduardo, David, Jr., Deleana, Daniela, Emanuel, all of Elgin; 2 brothers, Luis of San Francisco, CA., Gabriel of Mexico City, MX.; one sister, Eustolia of Araro, MX.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 8 from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Elgin, officiated by Father Felipe. Burial will be private.
