James A Zastrow, 54, of Elgin died Saturday, March 15, 2008 in Sycamore. Born August 1, 1953 in Elgin, he was the son of Arthur and Joanne (Piakola) Zastrow.

Jim loved boating, canoeing and fishing. He worked for Haumiller Engineering for 30 years. He also taught for the Coast Guard Auxiliary for several years. Jim will be remembered for his love of all things music, especially the Beatles and his clarinet.

He is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Joanne Zastrow.

James is survived by his wife of 23 years, Cheryl Zastrow; daughter Christina Zastrow; son Stephen Zastrow; brother, Thomas (Janice) Zastrow; niece, Rebecca Zastrow, and nephew Robert Zastrow.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at O’Connor – Leetz Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. with Funeral Service at 7:00 P.M, Ross Bentley, officiating. Burial will be private. For more information and to leave a condolence please call (847) 741-1400.
