Jimmy passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 27, 2019 in the mountains he called home near Sandia Park, New Mexico. He was born November 1, 1975 in Elgin, Illinois. Jimmy, precious son of Everardo and Rosa  Saenz, cherished brother of Crystal and Jazmin Saenz, beloved friend to many, adored Uncle Jimmy to the children around him, knew how to make anyone feel at home with his bear hugs and childlike grin. He had a laugh that would fill up the room. Jimmy lived a full life filled with adventures and activities he loved. He spent most of his time in the outdoors as that was his passion, often duck hunting and fly fishing. He loved the bagpipes and was a talented player. He enjoyed celtic music, song writing, playing the guitar, singing and dancing.  Some of Jimmy’s other passions included writing, painting, wild places, silly jokes, babies, and most of all, his family, friends, and community. Throughout his life, he sought opportunities to serve others: Deputy Sheriff for Mora County, volunteer firefighter and EMT in Mora, New Mexico, and  festival medic, in his pipe and drum band and by simply being a helpful friend to anyone who needed a hand. He was a generous soul who made sure no one within a hundred yards of his smoker ever went hungry. And he was a seeker, full of curiosity and wonder. We will miss Jimmy’s loud enthusiasm and his gleeful humor, along with his quiet gentleness and his loving compassionate heart. Jimmy is preceded in death by his brother Jaudiel Saenz. He is survived by parents Rosa and Everardo, sisters; Jazmin, Crystal, and a multitude of very close friends, whom he considered family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019 between the hours of 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at O’Connor-Leetz Funeral Home, 364 Division Street, Elgin, Illinois, 60120.
