Guadalupe Lopez, 78, of Elgin, died Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Presence St. Joseph Hospital.
Guadalupe was born in Mexico on September 9th, 1940 to Salud (Perez) and Amado Cortez.
He loved farming, spending time outdoors, and most importantly spending time with the family.
Guadalupe Cortez was preceded in death by his parents and sister.
He is survived by wife, Elena Cortez , his four sisters and his two brothers.
Visitation will be held at O'Connor-Leetz Funeral Home, 272 Divison St., Elgin, on Wednesday, October 10, 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 272 Division St., Elgin, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 11, with Father Yovanny Dorado officiating. Burial at Dundee Township East will follow immediately after the service.
