Eileen Dixon 89, peacefully departed this world on February 23, 2024.  Born February 14, 1935, in Chicago, IL. Eileen, daughter of the late Spencer Jones and Delinia Barker. Later in life she moved back to Chicago, and was blessed with her daughter Linda, raising Linda with her late husband Charles Dixon Eileen was not just a collector of various things; she was a collector of memories, through various adventures with the family. Whether it was stamps, coins, antiques, or drawings from her great-grandchildren, each item meant something special.  Looking through the family photos, we can see the type of life Eileen once held.  Eileen was also a survivor of breast cancer. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, brother Spencer Jones, sister Hannah Marie Laughlin, late husband Charles Dixon, daughter Linda Gross, niece and nephew, Karen Simpson and Gregory McGuire, Great-niece Erica McGuire, and Brother-in-law Amos McGuire. Cherished by her grandchildren David Gross (Seanot) Victoria Gross (Jason), three great-grandchildren (Jasmari, Naomi, David Jr), sister (Callie Jo McGuire), numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 7th at the O'Connor - Leetz Funeral Home, 364 Division Street, Elgin from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
