Devonte Turner, 20 of Warrenville, died Thursday, April 30, 2015 in Elgin. The son of David Grissom and Dorothy Turner-Gross, he was born October 7, 1994 in Elgin.
He enjoyed music, wrestling, football, and his beloved family. He worked as a manufacturer for Box Inc., in Elgin.
Devonte is preceded in death by his father, and paternal grandmother.
He is survived by his mother Dorothy Turner-Gross, of Warrenville; step-father Brandon Gross; twin brother Devon, also Jonathon; two sisters, Lashay, and Chevaneese; three nieces, Ariah, Je’ana, Ahzarieah; maternal grandparents, Willie and Shenring (Turner) McIntyre of Zion, IL.; Maternal Grandfather, Leon Walker of Ft. Wayne, IN. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 8, 2015 at the Bethesda Church of God in Christ, 454 Hickory Place, Elgin from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 with Pastor Willie Tate, of the Progressive Baptist Church, Elgin, officiating. Burial will follow at Bluff City Cemetery, Elgin. Donations to the family would be appreciated.
