Chimeena Terrine “Meena” Spivey passed away at the young age of 23 on July 19, 2009 from a long term illness. She was a loving daughter, granddaughter, sister, and niece. She was born March 22, 1986, Elgin, IL., to Ruby Williams and Charles Spivey.
She has served in the medical profession and was a proud graduate of the Kishwaukee Community College with an Associate Degree in Science, and a Certified Nursing Assistant Degree. She also graduated with special recognition from De Kalb High School in De Kalb, IL. She loved reading and was an avid animal lover. She was always quick with a joke, bilingual and a master of trivia. Meena’s love for friends, laughter, music, fashion and philosophy filled her life with joy. Meena never let her condition prevent her from making the most of her life. Meena, we love you and will miss you every day for the rest of our lives. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her beloved cousin, Tatianna Rodriguez; her loving Grandfather, Willie Williams; her Uncle, John Leonard and Aunt, Margaret Ann Leonard.
Survivors include her devoted mother, Ruby Williams; father, Charles (Lisa) Spivey of Trinity, Texas; brother Charles Spivey Jr. also of Trinity, Texas; sister Chimarra Spivey; and brother Reggie Hill Jr. of Las Vegas, NV.; she is also survived by paternal grandmother Margaret Spivey; maternal grandmother Grace Alvarez and paternal grandfather. Other family members include many loving cousins, aunts, uncles and her wonderfully special nieces Mekiyah and Niemah.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2009 from 10:00 until time of funeral service at 12:00 PM at the O’Connor – Leetz Funeral Home, Elgin, Minister Yahcola Muhammad, officiating. Burial will follow at Bluff City Cemetary. Memorials in Meena’s memory may be made to family.

my condolences go out to the family of chimeena spivey. she was employed by me and from the first day i met her, i knew she had a heart of gold and a smile that would light up the room. my
