Andrea Aguina, 81 passed away on Friday 8/24/2018; 7pm at Sherman Hospital of Congestive Heart Failure .
Andrea was born on February 26, 1937. She grew up in Chicago, IL in the Back of the Yards area.
She was a member of the Mary McDowell Settlement house located in the Stock-Yards District.
She was a den mother for the Cub Scouts and Brownie leader for the Girl Scouts where her sons and daughter were involved.
Andrea became the Women’s President and Treasurer at both churches she attended later in life (one of them currently called Discovery Church in Elgin). She was also a Sunday school teacher for high schoolers and young adults.
She also organized a home group of women called the WOWs (Women of Wisdom) at the New Life Community Church in Chicago.
She was a beautiful person inside and out, kind and loving to all.
Her love for God was visible to all at her church and the community.
She loved to pray for people and she loved to worship God with all her heart.
She was employed at David C. Cook Publishing Co. in Elgin, IL where she worked for approximately 25 years in the Accounting and Purchasing departments.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Manuel and Lupe Gonzalez.
She is survived by, her loving husband of 63 years David Aguina Jr., her children David Aguina III, Marc Aguina, Daneen Aguina and Nick Aguina; her grandchildren David Aguina IV, Diana Aguina, Emelia, and Ezra Aguina and great grandchild Aiden Hankins. She is also survived by her four loving sisters Josephine Hernandez, Helen Gonzalez, Toni Heredia, and Victoria Gonzalez.
Andrea will be greatly missed!

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm at the O’Connor-Leetz Funeral Home 364 Division Street, Elgin Funeral services at 7:00, friends and family to officiate. Burial will be Wednesday 10 am from O’Connor-Leetz Funeral Home to Dundee Township East.
